Andrea first explored the art of movement and healing through many styles of dance, including modern and ecstatic dance and gymnastics. She performed and instructed at Creative Dance Center in Tiverton for over 20 years, went on to dance professionally at Walt Disney World with Attitude Dance Company and toured as a performer with the band Dynasty Electrik.

Andrea fused her innate understanding of physical movement and anatomy with her intuitive ability to nurture, and became a licensed massage therapist. She received her 950-hour certification training with The Salter School.

After over a decade of dedication to a personal yoga and meditation practice, in 2013, Andrea was compelled to share this love with others. She received her 200-hour yoga teacher certification in Hatha Yoga from Yoga Loft Tampa in Florida. Soon after, under the guidance of Master Energy Medicine and Sound Healing teacher and way shower, Lisa Ishwari Murphy, Andrea began a deep healing journey and transformation at Fairhaven Healing Art Center. Andrea is now a Certified Energy Medicine and Synergy of Sound Healing Practitioner.

While continuing to embody and expand her knowledge at Sva Ha Yoga and the Synergy of Sound Training Academy. (Founded by Lisa) She went on to complete her 500- hour Sva Ha Yoga training in 2022. Andrea is now a Sva Ha Yoga Teacher Trainer. Reiki 2 attuned and an Energy For Life Flow Coach in training.

In 2019, after several years of offering special event yoga and sound healing classes with Neil, together they opened Power and Grace Yoga. Neil proposed to Andrea at their first studio on Johnny Cake Hill in New Bedford, MA. They were married at 675 Orchard Street, in their new studio location along the cove in the south end of the city. Andrea and Neil teach classes and workshops, and are Co-Directors of the Sva Ha Yoga 200 hour program at Power and Grace Yoga.

Andrea is particularly gifted at teaching yoga movement and meditation supported by sound using live instruments, (singing bowls, drums, gongs, ting- shaws, flutes, and chimes), a well crafted playlist, or the nature sounds of the outdoors. As a teacher trainer she is delighted to witness the illumination and transformation of students. She has led practices for thousands of individuals of all ages and levels over the past seven years, including many local studios, assisted living establishments, Heaven on Earth Retreats, Yoga by the River, New Bedford Wellness Initiative, Meditation Club at Nichols College, Bristol Community College, Friends Academy Teachers, Westport School Teachers, New Bedford Teachers, Carabiner’s Climbing & Fitness Kids Summer Camp, Camp Angel Wings, The Bridge, Westport Land Conservation Trust, Quequechan River Rail Trail, Yoga at the Fort, and more. She has also been a retreat leader of Yoga & Sound Healing retreats in the Himalayan Mts of Nepal, Costa Rica, the Azores in Portugal, and at the Thai Buddhist Temple in Raynham, Massachusetts.
